Neonatal Mattress
C
osyTherm is an ideal system for preventing hypothermia in neonates. It uses the very latest technology to deliver high warming performance, simplify nursing and reduce maintenance costs.
High Performance
CosyTherm exploits Inditherm's patented flexible polymer technology to provide unrivalled warming performance. The system uses a mattress with integral pressure relief to prevent pressure sores and at the same time provide high contact area between the patient and the soft heating surface. The design ensures high thermal transfer characteristics and very fast warm-up.
Practical & Convenient
The CosyTherm system is both practical and convenient. It fits all standard cribs or cots and can be adapted for any special nursing equipment. It is unobtrusive, giving open access to the baby so that nursing is not impeded and parental concern is minimised. The system is simple to operate and very easy to clean, saving time and simplifying infection control.
Cost Saving
Cost savings can be realised as CosyTherm fits into existing equipment. The warming capability provided will free up more expensive resources for patients with greatest need. The availability of simple, low cost warming will also facilitate the provision of care for infants needing support, but not the complexity of an incubator. The use of flexible carbon polymer technology eliminates maintenance costs.
Safe & Reliable
Safety is assured by the low voltage operation, with no vulnerable heating elements due to the use of Inditherm's flexible polymer technology. No water or circulating air is required, reducing risk of infection, and the mattresses are fully sealed to allow easy and thorough cleaning.
Inditherm
Inditherm plc has established itself as a cost-effective provider of innovative solutions to difficult heating problems using its unique, carbon-based polymer technology. Based near Rotherham in South Yorkshire, England, Inditherm develops and manufactures heating solutions for markets as diverse as confectionary and food processing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, medical, utilities, construction and sport. The company was floated on the London Stock Exchange (AIM) in 2001.

CosyTherm can be used in most settings where prevention of hypothermia in babies is required. The need for active warming is usually due to poor thermoregulation in neonates, particularly if they are pre-term or low birth-weight.
Neonatal Intensive Care & Special Care Baby Units
CosyTherm is ideally suited for use in Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) or Special Care Baby Units (SCBU). It can be used as a "step down" facility following incubator nursing to help infants still at risk of poor thermoregulation. CosyTherm can also be used instead of an incubator where only the warming function is needed.
Delivery Suite
The risk of hypothermia in the delivery suite has been well documented. CosyTherm provides a simple, effective and affordable solution for this clinical environment that does not impede access to the baby and provides warmth quickly and effectively. The CosyTherm mattress can be easily fitted in a radiant warmer to give added warming in challenging cases.
Post-Natal Wards
Active warming can also be of significant benefit for babies in a normal post-natal setting. This is particularly true for pre-term and low birth-weight infants. Warming applied as routine care can prevent the need for more intensive treatment later. Simplcity of operation is of particular benefit in this area.
Neonatal Transport
CosyTherm can also be adapted for use in transport and patient transfer situations. The compact, lightweight design, combined with low voltage operation, are well suited to this application.
